Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you contact us or use vgisteel.com — written plainly, the way we do business.
Vishwa Geeta Ispat (“VGI”, “we”, “us”) is a steel trader based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and enquiry channels, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written to align with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. By contacting us or using our website, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We only collect information that helps us respond to your steel enquiries and improve our service. This falls into two categories.
Information you give us
- Contact & enquiry details — your name, phone number, email address, company name, city, and the message or quote request you submit through our enquiry forms.
- WhatsApp & call enquiries — when you reach us on WhatsApp or by phone, we receive the number you contact us from and the details you share about your requirement.
- Order & dispatch information — if you become a customer, details needed to process and deliver an order (billing name, GSTIN, delivery address).
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages you view (including our live steel-rate pages), the links you click, and how long you stay.
- Device & technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, and approximate location, used for security and to display the site correctly.
How we use your information
- Respond to enquiries — to answer your questions, share steel rates, and prepare quotations.
- Fulfil orders — to process, invoice, dispatch, and provide support for orders you place.
- Improve our service — to understand which products and pages are most useful and improve the website.
- Communicate — to send order updates or, only where you have opted in, occasional offers and rate updates. You can opt out at any time.
- Comply & protect — to meet legal and tax obligations and to prevent fraud or misuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that affect you.
Cookies & tracking technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember basic preferences, and measure usage through analytics. Essential cookies are required for the site to function; analytics cookies are optional.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
How we share your information
We share information only when necessary, and only with parties who are required to protect it:
- Service providers — hosting, analytics, messaging (e.g. WhatsApp), and logistics partners who process data on our behalf to run the website and fulfil orders.
- Legal & regulatory — where required by law, court order, or a lawful government request, or to protect our rights, safety, and property.
- Business transfers — if our business is merged or reorganised, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We never sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.
Data retention
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected — to serve your enquiry, fulfil orders, and meet legal, accounting, and tax requirements. When it is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — secure hosting, restricted access, and encryption in transit (HTTPS) — to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights & choices
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your information where it is no longer needed.
- Withdraw consent or opt out of marketing messages at any time.
- Raise a grievance about how your data has been handled.
To exercise any of these, contact our Grievance Officer using the details in Section 11. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by law.

Children’s privacy
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
